Ghost Helper: Pocket Mall
A prototype Gameboy Color port of Ghost Helper.
An apocalyptic cozy game about Vertov, a robot scavenger, exploring a lost civilization and helping those trapped inside.
It is a game about exploring a story-rich environment and completing side quests; blending first-person walking simulator gameplay with a visual novel style narrative elements along with themes of earnest altruism in the face of oppressive systems.
THIS IS A PROTOTYPE DEMO IN EARLY DEVELOPMENT.
Originally built for the purpose of drumming up interest in the full game, it has turned into its own monster.
To skip the platforming intro sections, hold RIGHT during the ship falling cinematic.
Made for mobile, but can be played on desktop. If you would like to try out the game on an emulator or actual hardware, let me know.
No audio, but here is a playlist you can listen to while playing.

I'd totally missed that you created this version. This is great. I remember following your progress on the original Ghost Helper, so it's really interesting to see this version & recognising how you've translated parts of the original idea into this game. I think it works really well as a story that builds, the art is great, and I love those cut scenes & changes of look/feel too throughout. :) Fantastic.
I am really terrible at platforming so I didn't get very far but I absolutely love it <3
Thanks! Yes, I need to fix the platforming controls & collision to minimize those tricky spots.
Podrías ponerle la etiqueta game boy? (spanish)
I could export it to run on a GB emulator potentially. I didn't want to false advertise because this is just a web version.
